OMS Assessment and Tuning
Order Management Systems are some of the most complicated and expensive software applications installed in most investment management firms. However, our observation is that many firms are not happy with the fit and performance of these applications.
In our evaluation of existing implementations, we often find that the major problem is not, as is often assumed, a bad fit, but instead a poor initial or decaying implementation.
When this is the case, the best path forward (and the substantially less expensive alternative) is a project to reimplement and tune the existing software. Our approach begins by establishing a clear understanding of the business requirements and then adjusting the application configuration, data management, and associated business processes to make sure the application is optimized to the organization's needs.
Compliance Rule Management
Institutional Asset Managers often are challenged by the complexity of keeping track of client specific mandates as defined in contracts and investment policy statements (IPS). Resulting problems include missed or mis-coded compliance rules and can lead to expensive mistakes when key client mandates are violated.
Adeptyx consultants have designed and implemented unique solutions to this challange that have included:
- Linking of contracts metadata to CRM and document management systems
- Systematic linking of IPS statements guidelines to specific Compliance System Rules
- Identification of systems or business processes responsible for ensuring compliance from confirmation of pre-trade compliance to periodic confirmation that compliance checks continue to work as intended.

Ari Fuad has overall management responsibility for Adeptyx Consulting. Fuad formed Adeptyx in 2009 to provide high-caliber, solution-oriented consulting services to the asset management industry.
Prior to starting Adeptyx, Fuad was head of Cutter Associate’s Consulting practice and in aggregate, has more than 20 years experience consulting to the investment management industry. Prior to Cutter Associates, Fuad was an Associate Partner at IBM Business Consulting Services and an Associate Partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Fuad has a bachelors of science from the California Institute of Technology and a MBA from the University of Minnesota.
